Were these two soldiers victims from gaslighting--veterans of the American Revolution?                                 Warrant Officer Mr. Billy Lee and Commander George Washington GASLIGHTING-- been around for a long time Film #98! "Gaslight" from 1944. This psychological thriller stars Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, and Joseph Cotten and was directed by George Cukor. Ever wonder where our term "gaslighting" comes from?  OK, the movie came out in the year 1944.  When I went to school, starting in the 50s I was  taught little about our first president nor significant forefathers such as Mr. Billy Lee, his warrant officer, who saved Washington's life more than once, carried a gun, was a warrant officer and rode the horse, Chinkling.  So famous was he that after the Revolution people visited Mount Vernon not only  to see Washington but to see Mr. Billy Lee ride Chinkling, leapin...

Why Is There a Mayor Molly McMole Adventure Series?

Image
So many people have asked me how did the Adventures Begin, well here is the rest of the story.  A few years back a mole tribe decided to move to my yard and horse property and art studio causing a hazard. You know--mole holes, mole hills, and I was afraid of persons and horses injuring themselves. I had no choice but to try to eliminate the problem and believe me I tried everything to no avail.  Every morning a new hole and a new hill to irritate me.  One of my daughters asked "Mom why don't you write about her?"   Preposterous! I said!  But and there is a but I thought about it--took a class on writing for children and started the adventure.  Of course, it would only be one book, Cat Sophia and Molly McMole.  But that was only the beginning, 5 books to follow and in fact I started a blog and since Molly turned out to be very adventurous brought about by circumstances she filled up my time, in fact, I had to work to keep up with her.  ...

He was known as a traitor and his name is Benedict Arnold. Do you know the real story? To refresh your memory and/or were you even taught this in school? Our president, then Commander, was traveling to Fort West Point with black Warrant Officer Billy Lee (he was not a slave)  and Lieutenant Alexander Hamilton.  Benedict Arnold was the commanding officer at Fort West Point. Three low-ranked soldiers were on a lonely, dark, country road and a spy came along with papers hidden in his sock. He was in collusion with General Benedict Arnold  to kill Washington at Fort West Point. Washington, Lee, and Hamilton were on their way to Fort West Point.  These three soldiers saved Washington, Hamilton, and Lee's lives.  Their names are  Private David Williams,  Private John Paulding, and Private  Isaac Van Wart. Our country was blessed that lonely night. How lucky we were!  Do you really know who George Washington really was?  How did he achie...
