Were these two soldiers victims from gaslighting--veterans of the American Revolution?

GASLIGHTING--been around for a long time

Film #98! "Gaslight" from 1944. This psychological thriller stars Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, and Joseph Cotten and was directed by George Cukor. Ever wonder where our term "gaslighting" comes from? 

OK, the movie came out in the year 1944.  When I went to school, starting in the 50s I was  taught little about our first president nor significant forefathers such as Mr. Billy Lee, his warrant officer, who saved Washington's life more than once, carried a gun, was a warrant officer and rode the horse, Chinkling.  So famous was he that after the Revolution people visited Mount Vernon not only  to see Washington but to see Mr. Billy Lee ride Chinkling, leaping over fences and  through a jungle of a virgin forest.  Lee was overlooked by historians but artists did paint him or his legacy would be lost.  Ron Chernow and Bill O'Riley set the record straight and I blog as I find the information. George Washington did write about him in his diaries and he wrote that Mr. Billy Lee received an Honorable Discharge for his service. Omitting our heroes in our  school is a form of gaslighting.  We need the whole story.

Lee and Oliver Marion (the Swamp Fox's black brother)  should have been written in our history ---not ignored.  Oliver was finally given recognition by our Congress a few years back, and that is another story to pursue.  

Withholding history even in the 1770s  or just teaching what the powers that be think is important is a form of gaslighting.

Mayor Molly McMole Is Concerned About US Not Following the US Constitution, Article 4, Section 4, About US Border
