That bird staring at you has the intelligence of a 7 - 10 year old kid. That crow can remember your face, and   communicate to its crow buddies how much he/she likes you and just might give you a gift that is of interest to it like a shiny card or pencil. I met a crow once when I was an 8 year old kid. His name was Kawlaja. I’m used to writing about a mole tribe now living in Underground San Diego, h...

I f you have had an experience meeting a crow it is an experience you will not soon forget.  They are as intelligent as a 7 - 10 year old child. They are so intelligent that sometimes they will seek out a human contact and when they bond,  the crow will bring his friend gifts.  Sometimes a rescued crow will even honor h...

JUNETEENTH HOILIDAY--GEORGE WASHINGTON'S BLACK AIDE WARRANT OFFICR MR. BILLY LEE

Image
We just celebrated Juneteenth and I I bet there were no articles about this hero, black Warrant Office Mr. Billy Lee.  Do you know him? Bet not.  He was Commander George Washington's aide and right hand man in the American Revolution, historians called him a slave. OK, what did he do?   Well, he saved Washington's life more than once with his carbine Washington wouldn't go anywhere without him He was famous as the best horseman in the colonies with his horse, Chinkling.  Colonists would visit Mount Vernon afetr the Revolution to see Mr. Billy Lee ride his horse through the nearby virgin forest He did all of Washington's finances during the war and beyond He was in at least 6 paintings with Washington including Washington Crossing the Delaware (standing behind him) He helped Washington lead the troops on his famous horse Please let me know if you knew of him and learned about him in school He was probably the 2nd most important soldier in the American Revo...
